A checkerboard of fields, meadows and forests, crisscrossed by the Biała and Dunajec Rivers, offers enchanting countryside and numerous hiking, canoeing, and cycling trails. In the area often referred to as Polish Tuscany, you can visit the local vineyards, enjoy their wines, and relax in nature far from the hustle and bustle of big cities. One of the local peculiarities is the trail of World War I war cemeteries scattered over the surrounding hills.
Motorised tourists are recommended to follow the Tarnów – Kąśna Dolna – Paderewski's Manor House Independence Trail. The charms of the commune can also be admired from the waterway on the Dunajec canoe trail. The commune has many villages, which are the starting points for attractive excursions to the Wał, Lubinka, Ostra Góra, Słona Góra, Tuchów, Ciężkowice and Jamna groups. The commune has convenient transport links to Tarnów, Kraków, Nowy Sącz and Krynica.
The Pleśna Commune was the winner of the 2020 Małopolska Tourist Treasures competition in the Atmospheric Place category.
