Stary Sącz Commune
Stary Sącz
Stary Sącz is one of the oldest towns in Poland. Here you can see that time can stop. A leisurely walk among small tenement houses guarantees a lively contact with history.
Above the town is the Baroque dome of the tower and the 13th-century monastic Church of the Holy Trinity. The history of the Clarice sisters is inextricably linked with the history of the town and the entire Sądecka Land by the patroness of Stary Sącz, St. Kinga. The Old Town Complex has the status of a monument of history.
Those who want to take a breath from the weight of centuries and feel the pulse of nature have at their disposal the VeloDunajec and VeloNatura cycling routes, cross-country trails, swimming pools and the magnificent forests of the Beskid Sądecki Mountains in Stary Sącz. There are many tourist attractions, i.e., Bobrowisko, the Forest Pier, and a fantastic viewing platform in Wola Krogulecka.
For these reasons and more than a dozen others, such as concerts, festivals, fairs, outdoor painting, sports events, and the gallery of the IMO Contemporary Art Gallery, Stary Sącz is regularly placed in the rankings of the ‘Top 10’ quaint, unique, vibrant towns that you definitely don’t want to miss.
