The battle of Racławice, waged on 4th April 1794 by the Insurrection Army under Tadeusz Kościuszko against the Russian invader belongs to the most important events in the history of Poland.
It was an inspiration for various works of art, including the mock-up prepared by Janusz Król, a descendent of one of the scythe-bearers. The 40 metre mock-up contains 300 figurines of Polish and Russian soldiers, hand-made from lime tree wood. Andrzej Seweryn's narration transfers the viewer back in time to the Kościuszko Uprising, by describing the course of the battle, its military aspects, historical significance and symbolism.
