Neo-Gothic edifice erected in 1898 in honour of Franz Joseph I to celebrate the 50th anniversary of his accession to the imperial throne.
The original purpose of the building was to host the Mining School and Saline Museum. “Sztygarówka” is one of the most representative buildings in the city. From the outside, it draws attention with the raw brick facade, while inside, on the first floor, there is an assembly hall with a ceiling richly decorated with stuccos. It is currently the seat of the Starost’s Office.
