Kosmos Vineyard Lubcza
Other tourist attractions
Located in Lubcza, just 20 km from Tarnów, the Kosmos Vineyard is a young winery founded in 2019 by people who discovered a passion for wine and nature in search of their place in the Universe. They opted to run the winery with respect for nature, trying to manifest and capture in the bottle what is authentic and natural.
The name of the vineyard refers to the owners' cultivation of garden cosmos (Mexican aster), the excellent conditions for observing the sky in the vineyard, and the word 'cosmopolitanism', a vision of a world free of division and conflict. The vineyard consists of three plots of land. The oldest and smallest, about 1 hectare, is located on the southern slope, on the edge of the village, right on the border of the Małopolskie and Podkarpackie voivodships. Surrounded by forests on three sides, it gives the impression of a forest glade planted with vines. The second, larger parcel, about 5 hectares in size, is about 2 km away from the first in a straight line, located on the way to the top of the highest hill in the area – Mount Kokocz. This area, almost completely free of light pollution, allows countless stars to be admired on cloudless nights. The third 2-hectare parcel has the latest plantings, also on a south-facing slope, but in contrast to the others, the slope is much gentler.
The wine production focuses on naturalness and quality; there is no shortage of sparkling wines made using the ancient Pet-Nat method and orange wines with a remarkable bouquet. To create the best possible wines, the owners graduated from the University of Agriculture in Kraków with a degree in oenology and gained experience from other winemakers in Poland and abroad.
The winery organises tastings for individuals and small and large groups, with good wine and food with a focus on vegetarian dishes. Special events, training courses, workshops, photo shoots and corporate events are also held. Cut flowers, dried flowers, edible flowers, and vegetables are also on offer.
