To the Wiśnicz stronghold
Tourist routes
The route follows the blue trail from Bochnia to Nowy Wiśnicz, along the picturesque area of the Wiśnicz Foothills. The further south, the higher the ridges to cross. The culmination of the trip is a visit to the magnificent, 16th century Kmita family castle in Wiśnicz, which was fortified with huge bastions by the Lubomirski family in the following century. At the foot of the castle, in the old town, you can see a few other interesting historic monuments, including Koryznówka, a manor housing the Jan Matejko museum. From Nowy Wiśnicz, it is also worth going for an hour-long walk south, still on the blue trail. In the forest near Leksandrowa lies a unique sandstone outlier, called Kamień Grzyb (Mushroom Rock) on account of its shape. To return to Nowy Wiśnicz, simply go back the same road.
