Kościół św. Augustyna i Jana Chrzciciela Kraków
St. Augustine and St. John the Baptist’s Church of the Norbertines in Krakow
Shrouded in legend, picturesquely situated on the Vistula river slope, the church and convent complex of the Norbertines in Salwator is one of the oldest in Krakow.
The original church, destroyed during the invasion of the Tatars in 1241 was rebuilt and reconstructed many times. The current appearance dates back to the 17th century. With the Norbertine convent and the Norbertine nun, blessed Bronisława, Krakow traditions are connected – the Easter fair called Emaus or the Lajkonik parade in June.
