Founded in the 17th century by King Sigismund III Vasa, it was the first stone temple of this monks, becoming a model for erecting later buildings.
In the church there are paintings from the 16th and 17th centuries, the oldest of which is the image of the Gracious Holy Mother, called the Duchess of Wieliczka. In 2000, a faithful copy of Portiuncula – the chapel, which St. Francis of Assisi received from the Benedictines – was built in the monastery garden.
