The lower but equally picturesque Jałowieckie Range spreads near Mount Babia and the popular recreational resort of Zawoja.
The village of Stryszawa lies at the range’s foot in a mountain valley. The Convent of the Sisters of the Resurrection is located in the small hamlet of Siwcówka on the mountain slopes. Poland’s Primate, Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński vacationed here several times (the convent features a memorial chamber dedicated to the Primate of the Millennium). Bishop and then Cardinal Karol Wojtyła often visited Primate Wyszyński in this mountain retreat. A statue located at the green trail from Siwcówka toward the main ridge of the Jałowieckie Range commemorates these visits. A memorial cross with an obelisk dedicated to the hikes of both hierarchs is also located on the peak of Jałowiec Mountain (1,111 m above sea level), which they climbed together.
