The park covers an area of 7.11 ha and was founded in 1835 according to the project by Garszczyński.
This is the second municipal park founded in Poland during this period. It is located at the entrance to Wieliczka from the side of Kraków, west from the city centre, bordering the buildings of the Salt Mine, St. Kinga shaft. The Serafa stream flows along the northern border of the park.
