Tourist Information Point Tuchów
ul. Chopina 10, 33-170 Tuchów
Tourist region: Tarnów i okolice
It's also the centre of Małopolska's thriving wine-making region. All this is due to the excellent climate and the highest year-round temperatures in Poland region (after all, Tarnów,known as the 'Polish heat pole', is not far away). No wonder, then, that the Tuchovinifest International Wine Festival is held here every August.
Tuchów is where a number of pilgrimage routes converge. Pilgrims arrive at the sanctuary with the image of the Tuchów Mother of God, famous for its graces. Also worth a visit is the Church of St James, which lent its unique 15th-century triptych of Tuchow, also known as the 'Holy Conversation of Tuchów' to the National Museum in Kraków, where it is now on display. The land of Tuchów is also home to beautiful war cemeteries from the First World War, the city amphitheatre with a historic gazebo, the home of the Sokół Gymnastic Society and an open-air beekeeping museum. The Tuchów Market Square, which has the same layout as when the town began, shouldn't be missed.
And the surrounding area? It is a land flowing with wine and honey, beautiful amidst an awesome setting, , often enclosed in protected areas, with a wealth of unique monuments and extremely attractive spaces, and all of this in the charming Ciężkowicko-Rożnowskie Foothills.
