The museum was opened in 1994.
Its origins date back to the 60s of the 20th century, when the then parish-priest of the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church persuaded the villagers into the artistic creativity. Soon, it turned out that works of folk art presented a very original style, which soon became popular in Poland and all over the world. Currently, the Museum has approximately 3,000 exhibits, mainly wood sculptures and paintings on glass. Some of them are used as the church decorations.
