Pogorzyce Tourist region: Oświęcim i okolice

Pogorzyce is beautifully situated. There are tracts of highly cherished nature, in particular the loess ravines. The beech forest on the western slope of Mt Bukowica, is home to numerous protected species, including flowering ivy, and deep inside the forest, there are beautiful ponds.
From Pogorzyce, you will have extraordinary views of Lipowiec and the Vistula Valley. From here, you can see the panorama of the Beskid Mountains; in good weather, you can even see the Tatras. Hidden deep in the forest is a natural pearl of the Chrzanów district – the charming Cascade Ponds. Their name derives from the fact that water flows from the higher ponds to the lower ponds. Benches and tables are on the banks, and a fire pit, a swing, and a sandpit are available. So, you can go here with the whole family. There is an excellent chance to catch a big fish, come for a walk or have a picnic. But above all, the site provides relaxation in nature. It is worth taking a walk to the Grodzisko Wielkie Hill, which is located partly in the Pogorzyce municipality and partly in the Babice municipality. It is mainly overgrown with thermophilic orchid beech. At its summit is a distinctive rampart piled with stones. Its origin and the time of construction are unknown.
