Long-Eared Tourist Trail Nowy Targ
Nature
ul. Lotników, Nowy Targ
Tourist region: Gorce i Beskid Wyspowy
Want to learn more about the lives of owls? You are in a good place. The Long-Eared Tourist Trail is Poland's first scenic educational trail dedicated to owls, specifically the long-eared ones. It leads from Nowy Targ to the village of Bór in the municipality of Szaflary. Its length is approximately six kilometres.
These nocturnal predators have fascinating habits, which, for humans, are sometimes difficult to follow. If you want to learn about them, this is where you have that chance. On the picturesque trail, initiated by Daniel Urbaniak, stops have been prepared in the form of plaques with information on the lives of the four eagle-eared families. The trail runs through extremely attractive and naturally valuable areas around the Bór na Czerwonem Nature Reserve, a Natura 2000 site, so the trail is recommended as an educational trail for schools and anyone who wishes to learn about the fascinating world of nature. The trail is suitable for cycling (part of the Trail Around the Tatra Mountains) and walking. Tourists have three tourist shelters at their disposal for resting. A restaurant and hotel are located directly at the start of the trail in Nowy Targ.
