The first mentions of curative properties of waters near Szczawa come from the 15th century. Their occurrence is associated with areas of shallow penetration of infiltration waters, which results from, inter alia, low permeability of flysch deposits. The extraction of local chloride mineral waters started in 1934. There are three intakes of springs having a positive impact of the kidneys, respiratory system and digestive system. We may also find here, although rarely, sulfide waters used to cure kidney diseases.
