Formerly, Zagóra– one of the hamlets in Czarna Góra – belonged to the parish in the neighbouring village of Trybsz. In 1948, its inhabitants built a small stone church, to which they brought the parish priest from Trybsz for masses. In the 1970s they added a vicarage. Due to the poor condition of the church, Fr. Hubert Kasztelan Ocist began building a larger church around the old building, which was erected between 1993 and 1995. In 1995, it was consecrated by Cardinal Franciszek Macharski. In 1996, a Cistercian parish dependent on Mogiła Abbey was established.
The architect Stanisław Tylka from Zakopane designed the church in the regional style. The main altar and organ from the previous church were placed in the temple. The wall paintings were done by the Ukrainian artist Vasyl Krasiocha from Stanisławów. There is an interesting painting of the Last Supper with portraits of the church builders against the backdrop of the Tatra landscape.
The church is encircled by a carved rosary and Stations of the Cross stations. At the foot of the church is the grotto of Our Lady of Fatima, and next to the vicarage is a pilgrim's house, a sports hall, two leisure centres, sports fields, a summer swimming pool and a children's playground.
