Tourist region: Beskid Sądecki i Niski
The park is divided into four main sectors, presenting the construction of individual ethnographic groups. This area of 20 hectares presents examples of their constructions and everyday life. In addition, in the central point of the rural buildings, a manor house with a road leading up to it, a manor park and a farming complex were situated. By the stream, in the northern part of the park, there is a complex of traditional folk industry facilities, powered by water – a sawmill, mill, fulling mill. Almost all the objects in the Sądecki Ethnographic Park are original – they were dismantled in their original village, moved, preserved and reassembled in the heritage park. The transferred buildings are arranged in homestead complexes, which sometimes consist of objects from different farms, and even from different villages, all while keeping in accordance with the ethnographic group, wealth or type of object. The Sądecki Ethnographic Park presents the traditional folk culture of the Sącz region in all its richness, taking into account the spatial, property, social and professional diversity of the villages of Sącz. The cottages and some of the farm buildings are equipped with old furniture, appliances, dishes, items of clothing, paintings and all other items presenting the rich tradition of our region. Apart from the monuments of material culture, the interiors also contain exhibits showing the spiritual and social aspects of village life: rituals, magic, beliefs, and folk medicine. In the summer season, the heritage park systematically organises folklore events presenting traditional economic activities, old handicrafts, crafts and rural production, annual and family rituals, singing, music and dancing of all ethnographic groups, folklore of national minorities and of neighbouring countries. The construction of the Sądecki Ethnographic Park began in 1969, and it has been open to visitors since 1975.
