Kuźnia Vineyard
A vineyard in the municipality (gmina) of Gromnik was established in 2008 by Piotr Zagórski and his wife and covers an area of around 0.5 ha. This plantation is located on a slope with a sunny, south-western exposure. This part of Gromnik is definitely lower – about 300 metres above sea level – and therefore slightly warmer. The vineyard's plantings consist mainly of strains of increased resistance from German research institutes. The strains grown here for white wines include Solaris and Johanniter, and for red wines – Bolero, Monarch and Cabernet Carol, as well as a small, experimental plantation of dessert strains in which more than a dozen new selections have been planted. Their wines are showcased at national wine meetings and competitions where they often receive prizes and awards, the most appreciated being the Solaris and Cabernet. The hosts are happy to welcome visitors, where they can view the vineyards and the cellar where the winemaking takes place.
