The right tributary of the Vistula with a length of 247 km, which is formed at the height of Nowy Targ by the combined rivers Biały Dunajec and Czarny Dunajec.
It flows eastwards through the Nowy Targ Basin where its waters are accumulated through the dam in Niedzica, creating Lake Czorsztyn and then through the dam in Sromowce Wyżne, creating the Sromowce Reservoir.
