The history of the fortress dates back to the 14th century and the reign of King Casimir the Great. In around 1352, the knight, Jan of Syrokomla coat of arms, purchased Korzkiew Hill and began the construction of a Gothic residential and defence tower. Then, the knight Zaklika of Korzkiew, mentioned in 1389, erected the first stone castle as a rectangular basement tower. Over the centuries, the castle has changed owners many times, among them the Ługowski, Zborowski, Jordan, Wessel and Wodzicki families. It was rebuilt at the turn of the 15th century and in the 16th century. The Gothic residential part was enlarged with a beautiful Renaissance attic, the entrance gate building was built, and a loggia was added in 1720.

During the partition of Poland at the end of the 18th century, Korzkiew found itself in the Russian Empire. The owners moved out of the decaying castle. The uninhabited castle deteriorated and fell into disrepair by the end of the 19th century.

In the 1960s, architectural research was carried out in the building. Since 1997, it has been owned by architect Jerzy Donimirski, who is rebuilding the castle surrounded by a historic park. He has created a hotel with four chambers in the 15th-century gate tower, where you can stay overnight and dine by fireplace and candlelight, enjoying Italian wine. The banqueting rooms are located in the Gothic-Renaissance residential area.

The defensive walls of the lower castle, the walls of all castle buildings, the courtyard and the wooden porches around the walls have been reconstructed at Korzkiew Castle. The courtyard frequently hosts knightly tournaments, court dances, concerts, and feasts, while the castle tower offers a magnificent view of the surrounding area.

A 17th-century church is visible on the adjacent hill.

The Korzkiew Castle welcomes everyone to its 14th-century thresholds. It is located to the north, just 13 km from Kraków Market Square.

You can live 'with the spirits' in the tower and gate building, in four chambers, each with a bathroom and fireplace. A lounge, dining room, and kitchen complete this residence for ten guests. Self-catering is possible in the fully equipped kitchen.

On separate request, dinners in the castle rooms by candlelight and a blazing fireplace or in the courtyard under the stars are a highlight.

On request, wines brought to the Korzkiew Castle from the friendly Castello di Tagliolo in Piedmont, Italy, are offered.
