The Jewish cemetery in Nowy Sącz
Monuments
The Jewish cemetery in Nowy Sącz at ul. Rybacka, founded as the second Jewish cemetery in the town, comes from the 19th century.
To this day, about 200 tombs have been preserved. This small number is an aftermath of the occupation period, when the macebas were used to pave streets and the cemetery itself became a place of mass executions of the Jewish and Polish inhabitants of the town. In the cemetery, there is an ohel of the Tzadik Chaim Halberstam, even today this is a place of pilgrimages of the Hasidim from all over the world.
