Hybridium Vineyard
Witanowice, 34-103 Witanowice
Tourist region: Oświęcim i okolice
The Hybridum vineyard is located near Wadowice, in the village of Witanowice about 40 km from Krakow. The vineyard is situated at an altitude of just over 300 m above sea level, has a southern exposure and an average slope of 8%. It was founded in 2009 by Marcin Pierożyński – the owner of Krakow restaurants including ZaKładka near Kładka Bernatka in Krakow. This two-hectare plantation on a gently inclined southern slope, covered by loess soil with an admixture of sands and clays, gives life to such strains as Hibernal, Solaris and Bianca for white wines, and Regent and Rondo for reds. The wines are matured here for a minimum of six months in French oak barrels. Since 2012, the winery has been also producing sweet wine– SOL from the Solaris strain. Wines from Hybridum have received good reviews from critics and have won medals at various wine competitions. The wines can be found in restaurants and wine shops in the area.
Wine production is overseen by one of the veterans of Małopolska winemaking, Maciej Kaplita of Comte Vineyard in Klucze (the entire winemaking process also takes place in Klucze as well).
