Tourist region: Jura Krakowsko-Częstochowska
Founded by Kasia and Jacek Fluder, Sun and Wind Vineyard (Winnica Słońce i Wiatr) started out in 2011 on a 40-acre site next to the Ojców National Park. Lovers and enthusiasts of mountain climbing decided to add a drop of wine to their sports passion. The name of the vineyard was invented by the owners' children, and it now has almost 2 hectares of cultivated land scattered in three places over an area of about 10 kilometres, from the edge of the Prądnik Valley to the Dłubnia Valley. The vines are located at altitudes ranging from about 300 m above sea level in Iwanowice, to almost 400 m above sea level in Smardzowice. The main varieties produced here are hybrids resistant to fungi so that the use of chemical sprays is reduced – Seyval and Solaris for white grapes, and Leon Millot, Marechal Foch, Regent, Rondo, Cabernet Cantor and Cabernet Cortis for the red ones. The winery invites you to tastings during which you can taste the wines and also learn a lot about the history of the winery, the specific features of the Jurassic soils, and interesting facts about wine production.
